Vaccination for parvovirus in dogs

The Parvac vaccine will only protect against parvovirus in dogs, and will not cover Hepatitis or Distemper.
VACCINATION PROGRAMS:
Puppies: It is recommended that puppies are vaccinated at the following ages
1st Vaccine 6-8 weeks
2nd Vaccine 12-14 weeks
3rd Vaccine 16-18 weeks.
Adults/juveniles over 18 weeks: If never vaccinated before, 2 doses should be given 4 weeks apart.
A yearly booster should be given to all dogs to maintain adequate immunity.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Give a 1 mL dose by subcutaneous injection in dogs of all ages; gently massage injection site to help disperse the vaccine.
*Please note: vaccines do not come with syringes.

| Precautions | Veterinary surgeons must exercise particular care to ensure that the veterinary premises are not a source of infection.The vaccine has been fully tested for sterility and safety before issue, but it must be stressed that the correct vaccination procedure is equally important if secondary infection is to be prevented. Use all product within 12 hours of opening.Take care to avoid accidental self-injection. In the event of self-administration, seek medical attention if you are concerned and show the package leaflet or label to the doctor.First Aid If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre. Phone Australia 131 126. This material may cause a mild allergic reaction in sensitive individuals on skin contact. Avoid skin contact. If skin or hair contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and flush skin and hair with running water. If splashed in eyes, wash out immediately with water.Disposal Dispose of empty containers by wrapping with paper and putting in garbage. Empty syringes and needles should immediately be placed in a designated and appropriately labelled sharps container. |
