Orbenin is a brand name for a type of antibiotic medication called cloxacillin. It is commonly used in veterinary medicine to treat bacterial infections in animals. Orbenin is effective against a variety of bacteria, including those that can cause skin infections, respiratory infections, and urinary tract infections in pets. Animals may need Orbenin if they have been diagnosed with a bacterial infection by a veterinarian. It is important to follow the prescribed dosage and duration of treatment to ensure the infection is properly treated and to prevent the development of antibiotic resistance. Always consult with a veterinarian before giving Orbenin or any other medication to your pet.
Orbenin, like any medication, can potentially cause side effects in pets. Some common side effects of Orbenin may include gastrointestinal upset such as vomiting or diarrhea. In rare cases, pets may experience allergic reactions to the medication, which can manifest as itching, hives, or difficulty breathing. It is important to monitor your pet closely while they are taking Orbenin and contact your veterinarian if you notice any concerning symptoms. Your veterinarian can provide guidance on how to manage any side effects and may recommend adjusting the dosage or switching to a different medication if necessary. Always follow your veterinarian's instructions when giving Orbenin to your pet and do not hesitate to reach out to them with any questions or concerns.
When administering Orbenin or any medication to your pet, it is important to follow your veterinarian's instructions carefully. Here are some general tips for administering Orbenin to your pet: 1. **Dosage**: Administer the prescribed dosage of Orbenin as directed by your veterinarian. Do not give more or less than the recommended amount unless advised by your vet. 2. **Administration**: Orbenin is typically given orally in the form of tablets or capsules. Make sure to give the medication with food, unless otherwise instructed by your veterinarian. 3. **Consistency**: Administer Orbenin at the same time(s) each day to maintain consistent levels of the medication in your pet's system. 4. **Completion**: Complete the full course of treatment as prescribed by your veterinarian, even if your pet's symptoms improve before the medication is finished. This helps ensure that the infection is fully treated and reduces the risk of antibiotic resistance. 5. **Monitoring**: Keep an eye on your pet for any signs of side effects while they are taking Orbenin. Contact your veterinarian if you notice any concerning symptoms. 6. **Storage**: Store Orbenin in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and out of reach of pets and children. 7. **Consultation**: Always consult with your veterinarian before starting or stopping any medication for your pet. They can provide specific guidance based on your pet's individual health needs. By following these guidelines and working closely with your veterinarian, you can help ensure that your pet receives the appropriate treatment with Orbenin and experiences the best possible outcome.

If this is a new prescription, to enable immediate dispensing, please ask the vet to send a copy of the prescription to us prior to mailing it.
If the original prescription is in your possession, then please upload this to your pet's profile in VetRx prior to mailing it.
Please note that we must receive either a copy of the prescription from the vet, or the original prescription before we can dispatch your order. This does unfortunately add to the order processing time, however this is a requirement placed upon all pharmacies by the Health Regulators.
