What is Iramine?

Iramine is a medication commonly used in veterinary medicine to help manage various conditions in animals. It is primarily used as an antihistamine, which means it can help alleviate symptoms related to allergies, such as itching, sneezing, and skin irritation. Iramine can also be used to treat motion sickness in pets and as a sedative for animals undergoing certain medical procedures or experiencing anxiety. Overall, Iramine can be beneficial for animals that are experiencing allergic reactions, motion sickness, or anxiety-related issues. It is important to always consult with a veterinarian before giving any medication to your pet.

What problems could my pet have with Iramine?

While Iramine can be beneficial for managing various conditions in animals, there are potential side effects and risks associated with its use. Some problems that your pet could experience with Iramine include: 1. **Sedation**: Iramine can cause drowsiness and sedation in some animals, which may affect their alertness and activity levels. 2. **Dry mouth**: Iramine can lead to a decrease in saliva production, resulting in dry mouth and increased thirst in pets. 3. **Urinary retention**: In some cases, Iramine can cause difficulty in urination or urinary retention in animals. 4. **Gastrointestinal upset**: Your pet may experience digestive issues such as vomiting or diarrhea as a side effect of Iramine. 5. **Allergic reactions**: While rare, some animals may be allergic to Iramine and develop symptoms such as itching, swelling, or difficulty breathing. 6. **Drug interactions**: Iramine may interact with other medications your pet is taking, leading to potential complications or reduced effectiveness. It is crucial to follow your veterinarian's instructions carefully when administering Iramine to your pet and to monitor for any adverse reactions. If you notice any concerning symptoms or changes in your pet's behavior, contact your veterinarian immediately.

Is there anything I need to know about administering Iramine?

When administering Iramine to your pet, it is important to follow your veterinarian's instructions carefully. Here are some key points to keep in mind: 1. **Dosage**: Administer the prescribed dosage of Iramine as directed by your veterinarian. Do not exceed the recommended dose unless advised by your vet. 2. **Administration**: Iramine is typically given orally in the form of tablets or liquid. Make sure to administer the medication according to the specific instructions provided by your veterinarian. 3. **Timing**: Follow the recommended dosing schedule for Iramine. Some pets may need to take the medication with food to minimize gastrointestinal upset. 4. **Monitoring**: Keep an eye on your pet after administering Iramine for any signs of adverse reactions or side effects. Monitor their behavior, alertness, and overall well-being. 5. **Interaction with other medications**: Inform your veterinarian about any other medications, supplements, or treatments your pet is currently receiving. Some drugs may interact with Iramine, so it's essential to avoid potential complications. 6. **Storage**: Store Iramine in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and out of reach of pets and children. Follow any specific storage instructions provided by the manufacturer. 7. **Consultation**: If you have any questions or concerns about administering Iramine to your pet, do not hesitate to contact your veterinarian for guidance and clarification. By following these guidelines and staying in close communication with your veterinarian, you can help ensure the safe and effective administration of Iramine to your pet.

Important information to know when ordering prescription medicines

A prescription is required from your veterinarian before we can supply this product.

If this is a new prescription, to enable immediate dispensing, please ask the vet to send a copy of the prescription to us prior to mailing it.

If the original prescription is in your possession, then please upload this to your pet's profile in VetRx prior to mailing it.

Please note that we must receive either a copy of the prescription from the vet, or the original prescription before we can dispatch your order. This does unfortunately add to the order processing time, however this is a requirement placed upon all pharmacies by the Health Regulators.

Only once a conformant electronic prescription system is approved by NSW Health, will we be able to end the need for paper prescriptions.

How Much Does Shipping Cost?

Small orders (less than 500g) cost $9.90 to be delivered anywhere in Australia. For larger orders, shipping costs are calculated on distance and weight (leaving Sydney) and an exact price can be obtained in the shopping cart prior to checkout.

Pet Pharmacy Australia applies a shipping discount on orders over $150. A discount of $9.90 is automatically applied during checkout. Additional shipping costs for bulky goods or priority delivery are paid by the customer.

The weight limit for Australia Post is 22kg and orders that weigh more than this cannot be shipped. We recommend placing multiple smaller orders to work around this problem.
