How to Order:
Prescription Medication

At Pet Pharmacy Australia, we aim to simplify the process of managing prescription medications for your pets, though it is a new process and may vary from your previous experiences. Our objective is to ensure that you have full visibility of your pets prescription from the time of prescribing until the last repeat is dispensed. Furthermore, this system is designed to generate reminders about the number of refills left, assisting in the timely placement of subsequent orders. Our commitment is to offer an efficient and user-friendly experience for both pet owners and veterinarians, streamlining the prescription management process.

The best way to get the prescription to us depends on how the veterinarian provides the prescription. Please select from the below options that matches your situation.

  1. Ideally before the consult with the veterinarian, create a profile for your pet in VetRx and approve Pet Pharmacy Australia and your veterinarian to access your records. This will enable a streamlined process for your vet to prescribe in VetRx. The vet can still prescribe in VetRx if you have not done this in advance.
  2. Search for the prescribed medication on our website.
  3. Enter your VetRx script ID in the relevant field and select the option for prescription status "VetRx Prescription"
  4. Please ensure that your vet has also mailed the original pen signed prescription to:
    Pet Pharmacy Australia
    Reply Paid 91160
    Macquarie Park NSW 2113

Please note that with this option we are able to dispense your order on the basis of the vet prescribing in VetRx, however we do still require the pen signed prescription and will be following up with the vet if the original is not received.

When VetRx is enabled as a provider of conformant electronic prescriptions in your State or Territory, the requirement for hand signed prescriptions and paper exchange will be removed.

  1. Create a profile for your pet in VetRx and approve Pet Pharmacy Australia to access your records.
  2. Search for the prescribed medication on our website.
  3. Enter your pets name and select the option for prescription status "New Prescription - Faxed, Emailed or Sent by Vet".
  4. Please ensure that your vet has also mailed the original pen signed prescription to:
    Pet Pharmacy Australia
    Reply Paid 91160
    Macquarie Park NSW 2113

Please note that with this option we are able to dispense your order on the basis of the copy from your vet without needing to wait for the original to arrive, however we will be following up with your vet if the original is not received. It is preferable to request for the vet to prescribe using VetRx as this prevents transcription errors, and attaches the prescription directly to your pet's records.

  1. Create a profile for your pet in VetRx and upload the prescription.
  2. Search for the prescribed medication on our website.
  3. Enter the VetRx script ID when adding the medicine to the cart.
    • If you have difficulty uploading the prescription in VetRx, then there is the option to upload a scanned copy or photograph of the prescription on the product page of the Pet Pharmacy website.
  4. Please then post the original pen signed prescription to:
    Pet Pharmacy Australia
    Reply Paid 91160
    Macquarie Park NSW 2113

Please note that with this option we are unable to dispense your order until the original prescription has been received at the pharmacy. It is preferable to request for the vet to either prescribe using VetRx or to send us a copy of the prescription from their office.
