Indications Immunisation of animals against tetanus. The susceptibility of animals to tetanus varies considerably according to species, e.g. horses, sheep and goats are highly susceptible; cats, dogs, pigs and cattle are moderately susceptible; birds are highly resistant. If losses in animals have occurred from tetanus, seek veterinary advice to ensure correct diagnosis and institution of the most effective vaccination program.

Precautions Avoid carcass damage in meat producing animals. Sheep should be inoculated in temporary yards on clean grass, where possible, as shearing sheds and fixed mustering yards are likely to be heavily contaminated with clostridial spores. Avoid injection of animals during wet weather or under dusty conditions, as far as possible. Sterilise syringes and needles immediately before use by boiling in water for ten minutes. Avoid use of strong disinfectants on apparatus. (These instructions do not apply if the Equivac T is supplied in single dose disposable syringes.) Injections must be made subcutaneously in animals intended for meat production. Use the shortest possible needle, not exceeding 15 mm in length. The intramuscular route is recommended for the vaccination of horses. The subcutaneous route should be used in dogs, cattle, sheep, goats and pigs.Maintain cleanliness at all times during vaccination. Great care must be taken to avoid contamination of the vaccine, needles and internal parts of the syringe by contact with unsterile surfaces or unwashed hands. Keep needles sharp and clean and replace frequently. Before vaccine is injected, clean the proposed site of inoculation on the animal's skin by swabbing with cotton wool soaked in an antiseptic solution such as methylated spirits. It is important that the vaccine is kept properly mixed before and during use.Take care to avoid accidental self-injection. In the event of self-administration, seek medical attention if you are concerned and show the package leaflet or the label to the doctor.Disposal Dispose of empty containers by wrapping in paper and putting in garbage. Dispose of empty syringes and needles by immediately placing into a designated and appropriately labelled sharps container.

How Much Does Shipping Cost?

Small orders (less than 500g) cost $9.90 to be delivered anywhere in Australia. For larger orders, shipping costs are calculated on distance and weight (leaving Sydney) and an exact price can be obtained in the shopping cart prior to checkout.

Pet Pharmacy Australia applies a shipping discount on orders over $150. A discount of $9.90 is automatically applied during checkout. Additional shipping costs for bulky goods or priority delivery are paid by the customer.

The weight limit for Australia Post is 22kg and orders that weigh more than this cannot be shipped. We recommend placing multiple smaller orders to work around this problem.
